Growth groups are a big part of HIGHPoint Church. We really believe that life wasn’t meant to be lived alone. Our Growth Groups are a life-changing opportunity to connect with people and build community. They offer easy-going, comfortable environments for you to grow in your relationship with God, with others and invite new friends! (FAQ)
What is a Growth Group?
Growth Groups are smaller clusters of people who are pursuing spiritual growth together in 3 major areas:
- Knowing God - Growing in their personal relationship with God.
- Knowing EachOther - Developing and deepening friendships with each other.
- Serving the World - Reaching out to others beyond the group.
Who are Growth Groups for?
Whether you’re brand-new to HIGHPoint Church or you’ve been coming for years, a Growth Group is a great next step for anyone who wants to grow in their relationship with God and others through relationships.
What is a typical Growth Group meeting like?
Each Growth Group is unique, but generally all groups have some social time (some may have snacks but not all) and conversation up front, followed by a time of exploring transformational truths, discussion and prayer. The meeting will last somewhere around an hour and a half to two hours.
What will we study?
We will be exploring Bible based curriculums that focus on life application and life transformation.
How often will we meet?
Growth Groups meet on a weekly basis.
How long will my group last?
All groups complete one full study together (anywhere from 4-8 weeks). After that, you’ll meet socially with your group members and decide together whether you’d like to continue on as a group. If your group does decide to go on, there are natural on and off ramps built into the life cycle of every group (breaks between studies, Christmas and Summer break, etc.) so you’ll be able to transition out of the group.
Can I be in more than one Growth Group?
Before you participate in more than one Growth Group we like to encourage every member to be involved in a ministry too. While you are certainly not locked into a group forever, we have designated on and off ramps every few months for you to transition to other groups.
I'm new to this whole church/God thing… is this the right place for me?
Groups are a great place to grow spiritually through relationships, make new friends and investigate the Christian faith. You might also like to check out our NEXT STEPS Class which is a safe, casual class held once a month where you can meet some of the staff and our Pastor, ask questions and explore faith and the vision, core values and direction of HIGHPoint Church. Where will the class meet?
At present all of our Growth Groups meet on our campus either on Sunday morning or on Wednesday evenings, but in the future they may meet in people’s homes or in public places like a coffee shop, Panera, Barnes & Noble, etc. If you’re interested in hosting a group in your home, please call our church office and let us know of your availability.
What about childcare?
Each individual group is responsible for deciding how to handle childcare needs. Some options are:
- All Growth Groups that meet on our campus on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings have child care provided.
- Have parents arrange for sitters on their own and attend the group without children.
- Chip in together for a sitter who watches the kids in a different room while your group meets.
- Group members take turns watching the kids each week.
